Welcome to this week’s Real Estate Wrap with Leanne Pilkington, Managing Director of Laing+Simmons and President of REINSW.

815 homes in Sydney went to auction this week, with a preliminary clearance rate of 74.8 per cent. Last week, we had 608 properties go to auction with a final clearance rate of 67.5 per cent. We had above 80 per cent clearance in the Hills, Hawkesbury and the Inner Southwest.

With the start of October happening this week, we want to highlight that Making Meditation Mainstream’s 28 for Twenty Eight campaign starts soon, too. The campaign encourages Australians to take ten minutes to meditate each day, for 28 consecutive days, as well donate $1 on each of the 28 days to Lifeline. Currently, it costs Lifeline $28 to answer a single call.

You can find out more and register for the initiative by clicking here.

Hey everyone, Leanne Pilkington here for the Real Estate Wrap, week commencing the 28th of September, the last week in September! Who can believe it?

You will notice I’m wearing a t-shirt today which is very unusual for me, unless I’m at the gym, and that’s because I and a whole lot of the team at Laing+Simmons are supporting 28 for Twenty Eight, which is an initiative put together by Making Meditation Mainstream.

What we’re going to do is we are committing for 10 minutes, for 28 days of October, for 10 minutes we are going to meditate and we are going to donate $28 to Lifeline, because that is the cost of a call to Lifeline. One call is $28. We would love to get more people involved, so if you want to find out more about this initiative, just send me a message and I will give you all of the details. Now to the Real Estate Wrap.

This week we had 815 properties go up for auction and a preliminary clearance rate of 74.8 per cent, which is up on last week’s preliminary clearance. Last week we had 608 properties go to auction with a final clearance rate of 67.5 per cent. Same week last year, 950 properties with a clearance of 74.5 per cent.

In Melbourne, we only had 60 properties go up for auction with half of those being withdrawn before auction, but thankfully we are seeing that our friends in Melbourne can start doing private inspections again. They’ve still got a long way to go but at least it’s starting to get back to normal, which is fantastic.

We had above 80 per cent clearance in the Hills, Hawkesbury and the Inner Southwest over the weekend and our lowest was in the Southwest of 64.9 per cent.

I hope you get an opportunity to enjoy this glorious weather. Take care and I’ll see you next week.
