Welcome to this week’s Real Estate Wrap with Leanne Pilkington, Managing Director of Laing+Simmons and President of the REINSW. There was not much auction action in local suburbs over the weekend due to the election. But with that over, the path is clear for vendors and agents to implement plans and for buyers to start circling dates on their calendars.

Hi everyone. Leanne Pilkington here for the weekly wrap commencing May 20.

Well, we have a new – or old – Prime Minister. It is good news as far as the real estate market goes and that’s awesome. But it’s really up to Scott Morrison now to show the leadership that this country needs and help us move forward. So I’ll be really fascinated to watch how that all unfolds in coming weeks and months.

As far as the real estate market goes on the weekend on Saturday, as expected we had low auction numbers here in Sydney. Only 270 auctions went up over the weekend. 60.7% prelim clearance rate according to CoreLogic. So the clearance rates have been pretty stable for the majority of 2019.

Anyway, lots more information here. Just click to download the report and I’ll check in with you next week.
