Laing+Simmons Raises Over $23k For Medical Research
Tue March 21, 2017
Last year, Laing+Simmons Parramatta committed to donate $300 to Westmead Medical Research Foundation (WMRF) for every property it sold in the second half of 2016. On March 29, the office will hand over a cheque for a staggering $23,400 for the most worthwhile of causes.
The award winning local real estate agency, as part of its 21st birthday celebrations in 2016, decided to partner with WMRF to raise much-needed money for vital medical research and critical care at Westmead.
The campaign was a huge success, tens of thousands of dollars were raised, and Group Principal Ray Fayad and Principal Caddie Dabaja will now present a cheque to the WMRF Board at its next meeting on March 29.
Media is invited to attend the photo opportunity. Interviews will be available on the day.
“It’s immensely satisfying to be able to support the Foundation in this way, in recognition of the vital role it plays in providing critical care and life saving research for people in need,” Mr Fayad says.
“As soon as we announced our plan to donate to Westmead, the support we received from local people flooded in.
“This campaign was our way of giving back to the local community we’ve been part of for the past 21 years. It’s also reminded us how much we value being part of the community and we look forward to calling ourselves locals for many years to come.
“Thank you to all our customers who have supported us throughout this campaign and over the years,” Mr Fayad says.
Westmead Medical Research Foundation Partnerships Manager Susie Saba says the support of local companies like Laing+Simmons Parramatta is inspiring.
“The key to any impact we can make as a Foundation relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses coming together. It is humbling to see what can be achieved when communities unite to help make a difference. We are so appreciative of the support from Laing+Simmons Parramatta and its community. These funds will give more people access to the best possible treatment and care,” Ms Saba says.
