Property among the hottest careers at the moment
Thu September 01, 2016
For many of us, choosing a career path is somewhat difficult. We jump from job to job, looking for something that excites us and something that we could be in for the long-term.
While it is important to think about careers from a skill perspective, there is also some merit in thinking about the various industries and sectors across Australia. With demand for new talent and widespread skill shortages, there is the opportunity to do something great in a number of areas. This was highlighted recently in the Hays Quarterly Report for July to September 2016, with real estate and property described as a "hotspot".
What positions are available?
New South Wales is certainly one of the states with a strong residential market - promoting vacancy activity. As such, the recruitment agency noted the need for people across many positions. This includes:
- Property Managers
- Strata Managers
- Sales Consultants
- Business Development Managers
- Leasing Executives
Managing Director of Hays in Australia & New Zealand Nick Deligiannis explained this spike in more detail.
"There has been an increase in job creation in many industries in response to market positivity, with particularly high levels of recruitment activity in the professional services sector," he said.
"New financial year budgets, business change projects and higher workloads are also fuelling vacancy activity."
Is a career in real estate right for me?
According to the Real Estate Institute of Australia, this industry is exciting and highly rewarding. With the chance to take on different tasks and responsibilities, you can be a major part of helping customers reach important life and financial decisions - showcasing your great interpersonal skills along the way.
Of course, every day is different in the real estate industry and that is what the team at Laing+Simmons love. If you want to join us, feel free to get in touch and we can discuss your options in more clarity.
