{"id":5768,"date":"2026-01-30T11:08:56","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T00:08:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lsre.com.au\/granville\/women-in-real-estate-study-launched\/"},"modified":"2026-01-30T11:08:56","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T00:08:56","slug":"women-in-real-estate-study-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lsre.com.au\/granville\/lsre-news\/women-in-real-estate-study-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Women in real estate study launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The Women in Real Estate Insights Study is targeted at all women across the industry on a national\u00a0basis, driven by Laing+Simmons Head of People &amp; Growth Jacqui Barnes.<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/form.jotform.com\/253486810500049\">Women in Real Estate Insights Survey.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A new first-of-its-kind study has been launched to dig deep into the actual experiences of women in real estate, to uncover evidence-based insights into the common traits between high-performing women agents, understand barriers and enablers, and\u00a0 accurately map the intersection of performance, family load, flexibility and support.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/form.jotform.com\/253486810500049\"><strong>The Women in Real Estate Insights Study<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is targeted at all women across the industry on a national\u00a0basis.\u00a0<strong>Driven by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rwire.com.au\/team-member\/jacqui-barnes\/\">Laing+Simmons Head of People &amp; Growth Jacqui Barnes<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>the project is seeking the\u00a0 views and input of as many women in real estate as possible.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Women and men<\/strong>\u00a0are encouraged to share the Women in Real Estate Insights Study survey with their\u00a0peers, colleagues and staff to elicit the greatest number of responses and generate the most\u00a0 powerful, actionable insights.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Ms Barnes says<\/strong>\u00a0the research study will close the \u201chuge gap between assumptions and reality\u201d by\u00a0 unlocking insights into performance, care and life load, leadership, business ownership, barriers and\u00a0 enablers of success, behavioural traits, and more.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThere\u2019s always a lot of commentary on the importance of providing a safe and encouraging\u00a0 environment for women in the industry, as well as career opportunities and flexibility with respect to\u00a0 family life. But there has never been a specific effort to understand how this can actually be achieved,&#8221;\u00a0<strong>she says.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>\u201cThis study is designed to shed light on the issue by providing credible data<\/strong>\u00a0to understand what drives\u00a0 female sales performance, what holds women back, what helps them thrive, how businesses can\u00a0 recruit, develop and retain women, and how business ownership and leadership pathways differ for\u00a0 women.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>\u201cExisting research in this area is largely confined to anecdotes.\u00a0<\/strong>There is no consistent data to help\u00a0 business owners make informed talent decisions. This study is about unlocking tangible insights\u00a0 which are practical, commercial and scalable.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThere are countless fluff pieces about women in real estate. This is a commercial study designed to\u00a0 influence how the industry operates with evidence-based insights, and we anticipate those insights to\u00a0 be detailed and profound,\u201d\u00a0<strong>she says.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Ms Barnes says<\/strong>\u00a0the study will seek actionable answers and solutions to various questions and\u00a0 problems which have for too long been inadequately addressed.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt has been said that female agents perform better, but the evidence is patchy. Real estate\u00a0 businesses are increasingly trying to recruit women, but don\u2019t understand what women actually need\u00a0 to succeed. Retention of high-performing women is inconsistent because we don\u2019t fully understand\u00a0 their experience,\u201d\u00a0<strong>Ms Barnes explains.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>\u201cAdditionally,\u00a0<\/strong>leadership and business ownership still skews heavily towards men, and no-one really\u00a0 knows why.
